a couple years ago i had one of the most trying times of my life…when joe left.  suddenly i felt so alone, with two kids to tend to daily, a house to take care of, working full time…i was stressed beyond stressed.  some days i felt so low, not even quite sure how i was functioning. 

there was one certain night when i was really down, almost at my breaking point…i went up on a hill in the middle of the woods…the sky was covered with stars and i could see for miles around.  i popped in a cd of hymns, sang along, cried my eyes out and talked to God for hours on end.  when i left the hill that night i had something new…HOPE…hope in the Lord restoring my marriage in HIS time. 

the Lord knew i had a few “life lessons” to learn along the way…such as patience and perseverance.  and realizing this happen in his time, not mine.  also during this time both of my children got saved, which was a total blessing. 

three months later the Lord restored my marriage and joe returned to us…He has blessed us with a stronger marriage than i ever could have imagined before!!!

first day…

so today was the first day of school.  i cannot believe my boy is in 7th grade…which means he is up in the high school now (we don’t have a middle school).  he’s been on my mind all morning, i hope he’s doing well.  he was kinda nervous about today. 
miss jade is now in 5th grade and is determined to do her best this year.  seems her dad told her if she did well this year then she would get a cell phone.  thats all i need, TWO kids with cell phones!  she was really excited to go today and wear her new clothes, especially her “becky bones”…she told me once she has worn all her new clothes then she won’t be excited for school anymore, lol…
i am just in absolute LOVE with jades bag…we bought it from wonky rocket on etsy.  it’s called “a wonky owl named judith”…so love it.  and if she ever gets tired of it i’m totally claiming it!
joey has his first scrimmage tonight at 5…i’m sooooo excited for it but totally nervous.  it’s a lot different than peewee.  please say a prayer for him and all the kids playing, for their safety.  you know OF COURSE i’ll be taking pics and loading them on here tomorrow.

paint = happy times

so i know i’ve mentioned that i’ve been working on a “faith” serires of paintings…and here are the first two i’ve done.  i’m so so so in love with them, like serious love.  the colors, the words, how perfectly they came out…everything!  the first one was inspired by a shirt i have…the second one was not quite as easy.  i struggled with what “subject” to go with…i turned on the gaither gospel hour and this is the first song i heard (one of my favs)…
let me explain this next note…you know joey moved his room over to the spare room last weekend.  well it turns out his sister misses him being in the room right beside hers.  so rather than just say “i miss you over here” she has to say it in other ways, lol.  last night we sent them to bed and heard commotion up there…then joey was at the top of the steps saying jade kept throwing the cat in his room (which made me laugh hard) and she kept throwing a ball in at him.  joe told jade to “stay out of joeys room and go to bed”.  this morning when i got up i found this note sitting right OUTSIDE his door…i don’t know which part makes me laugh more…the “not in your room” or the “ha ha ha” at the end.  she is QUITE the girl…
tonight we have cheer and football practice and this is the last night we have to sit at the school from 5 till 7:15…school starts tomorrow and he’ll just stay after school for practice from now on (thank GOSH)…we’ll still have to pick him up but at least we wont have to just sit there for 2+ hours.  also, tomorrow night is joeys first scrimmage…so please say a prayer for his safety.
