happy birthday to THE most kind-hearted man in the world…today is also my dads 77th birthday!!! he is the best, most caring, kind-hearted, always waving, hard-working Christian man i’ve ever met. and i am proud to have him as my father. he is more of a man than most can even dream of being. he is from the “old school” and still has manners, opens doors and pulls out chairs for women and waves to everyone that drives past, whether he knows you or not. i secretly love when he then turns to me and says “amy, who was that?”. and i am proud that he is my father!!!
thank you for ALL the things you do for us all year round dad…we all LOVE YOU and hope you have an AMAZING day, which will no doubt be spent on your backhoe!

17 YEARS & COUNTING ♥
17 years ago i married my best friend, my perfectly perfect soul mate…the wild and crazy man who could make me laugh by doing nothing…the man who was so opposite of anything i had ever known…there isn’t anyone else i would rather grow old with…he is such an amazing husband and father and i am beyond thankful for him…he can still make me laugh crazy insane amounts or make me catch my breath when i look at him…
so many people boldly told us that we would never last more than 6 months to a year…and here we are, 17 years later…more in love than ever…we’ve had our ups and downs but fought for what was important to us, our marriage…
this is the song he sang to me one night when we were dating…the instant he started singing it to me, while looking into my eyes, i started to cry…it was that exact instant that i knew i loved him and that i wanted to spend the rest of my life with him…he says that is the same moment he knew he loved me as well…to this day when i hear this song it instantly takes me back to that night and i get those feelings all over again…and when he sings it to me it still makes me cry…
You’re my always and forever.
You’re the one that hung the moon.
After all these nights together
I still get lost in your perfume.
And if I could write a love song,
Every line would tell the truth.
It would be a warm and soft one
And my heart would say to you
When you see me walk on water,
When the sea don’t reach the shore
When the fires of hell freeze over,
I won’t need you anymore
Oh, the feelings lay so easy,
Lyin’ here the way we are.
No one else could ever hold me
Like the heavens hold the stars.

a proverbs 31 woman
clothed in scarlet means she had quality clothing. that type of dye would have really been expensive. but remember, she just also extended her hand to the poor. so she isn’t buying expensive clothing for her family at the expense of others. she obviously has money, she is not only frugal but has also planted a vineyard and sold her harvest.
she pays special attention to the place where her family sleeps and spends many hours a night. she makes special coverings for them. now, i’m not friends with the sewing machine. not a single bit. but i can still do my part. it’s our job as mama’s to make sure our family has clean sheets and a comfy special sweet spot to retreat to when the day is over.
we also see that after this lady tends to her families clothing, after she gives to the poor, after she tends to her household needs then she gets to herself. she is humble, sacrificing and puts herself last. but yet, she doesn’t neglect herself either. she knows that how she dresses reflects on her husband. how you dress, as a wife, will either show honor and respect to your husband or disrespect. and she knows her husband doesn’t want to come home to a frumpy wife every day. we have to remember to take care of ourselves as well. it’s easy to get caught up in taking care of everyone else and neglecting ourselves.
this coming week as you shop, as you wash sheets, as you be frugal and find sales and as you tend to your own appearance…do it to the glory of God.
