grandpa’s camera

he never went anywhere without his camera
it could be found hanging around his neck
he would instruct people where to stand
then click the shutter with a twinkle in his eye
his love of photography was evident to everyone around him
it was his passion, one that i understand
his camera is my most priceless piece of equipment
the pictures that he took are a prize possession
when i look at them, i see him
they sing a familiar song to my heart
i see the world as he saw it
his love for nature and farm life
the majestic beauty of Gods creations
i can’t help but wonder, have i inherited his passion
is that possible
i wish we had discussed photography more
i wish i could have soaked in all his knowledge
i wish we could have walked the farm, shooting together
but instead, i will take out the envelope filled with your photographs
lay them all out in front of me
and once again, see the world as you saw it

jade:  i love raccoon’s so very much.  i wish they wouldn’t chew my face off, they are so adorable and i’d love to have one.  i would name it jerry.

joey:  leprosy

me:  because you’re not a cat?
jade:  no, because i know every single detail about justin beiber and he doesn’t even know i exist

jade:  so, i need to rename my stuffie
me:  why?
jade:  because i can’t remember the name harold.  i think i’ll name him marty instead.
me:  because that’s clearly easier to remember

WEIGHT LOSS {FEBRUARY}

so this month has been hard, like no joke.  i had a huge surgery at the beginning of the month {actually two weeks ago} that totally limited my activity level.  it still is limiting it, i just get tired so quickly.  and honestly, i’ve debated back and forth if there would be a pic this month, totally not feeling it at all BUT i still need to keep it real.  i have decided to post a pic, just so i can look back on it later in the year.

this month i have no idea how i did it, but i managed to lose 14 pounds.  i guess that makes up for not losing last month, right?  


i cannot wait to get back to feeling well and being able to be active like i was before.  in time, i know that will come.  i’m just not good at having patience.
