it WILL be the bestest

i have decided this holiday season WILL be the absolute best, at least i’m going to try my best to make it that.  i have big plans for making gingerbread houses, christmas crafts and snuggling on the couch watching christmas shows…this is the year for us to start some new traditions just with our fam…i’m already so excited for the holiday season i can’t hardly stand it…i’ve even already started my christmas shopping 🙂

i can remember as a child the days i would spend in the kitchen with my mama baking cookies and making homemade candy, we always had such fun…and i want my kids to experience that too while they are still young enough to apprecaite it.  so here is my task for my amazing bloggie readers, i want to know what your FAV christmas cookie recipe is.  you can email it to me at gypsytree@windstream.net

meal planning monday

this weeks edition…

monday – leftover stuffed peppers, one of my FAVS!

tuesday – crock pot chicken, stuffing and gravy with mashed potatoes…absolute comfort food!!!

wednesday – homemade sausage gravy and biscuits…my husbands FAV meal EVER…

thursday – chicken fingers and pierogies…joey has a game so we’ll have to eat quick and then get going…so an easy meal is a must

friday – pulled pork sammys with homemade mac and cheese…

saturday – pizza and movie night 🙂

sunday – another hurry hurry day…as soon as church is over i have a photoshoot soooo that doesn’t leave much time for a big, homecooked meal…maybe leftover pizza

tales of the crazy house (aka nail salon)

totally just realized i never shared my CRAZY stories from my nail salon trip a week ago…i’m soooo sorry and just KNOW you all have been waiting for them  🙂
first of all, i went on a wednesday assuming it wouldn’t be busy…WRONG…but i happened to walk in at the right time, there was one empty chair…right beside a very plain looking lady (mid 40’s, cellphone hooked on her jeans pocket, long straight blonde hair, mom jeans and a t-shirt)…i look down at her nails and they were wicked long and creepishly thick and curled under a bit…seriously like throw-up-in-my-mouth-creepy…certainly not what you expected from a first look at her…
then the next girl walks in and sits on the other side of plain girl…this girl is, what’s a nice way to put this, basically a crack head…i’m fairly positive she did NOT brush her hair (or her teeth) before she came to get her nails done…her shirt didn’t match her pants although both were very colorful…and i’m fairly sure she had 4 teeth, none of them being in the front…and her face was covered in big sores…
strangely enough, plain girl and crack head stike up an instant, beautiful friendship…who would have ever imagined that?!  oh boo, plain girl forgot to get her credit card out of her pocket before they painted her nails…but thankfully crack head is there to reach in her pocket for her and dig it out…plain girl thanks her and says “i’m glad your a girl, it would have been awkward if you were a guy”…ooookkkkkkk so a random crack head reaching in your pocket isn’t awkward?
then crack head gets up and walks over to the hand washing sink…i wasn’t really paying attention, just figured she was washing her hands…nope, she was actually standing there chewing off her old acrylic nails…i’m sure my mouth was hanging open as i sat there and stared…i’m not sure why people still surprise me with their crazies but they do…
crack head also picked out her nail color (or colors i should say)…a different color for each finger…does that even surprise you?  she said that way, her nails always match her outfit…my gosh, why didn’t i ever think of that?!?!
