Today I am so thankful for a few things. Our crazy evenings together, just me and my littles. For chinese buffet. For a fresh set of nails. For jokes in walmart, and laughing crazy hard, which makes walmart during the holidays a little more tolerable. There really is no sweeter place than wherever we are together. The time is precious. Each moment is here but for just that moment and then it is gone. I want to cherish every second. Every laugh. Every giggle. Every sarcastic comment. I want to soak them up as I would soak up the sun. I want to tuck them in my heart. I want to remember every detail, so years from now I can pull them out and relive them.
Biblical Besties {Leaving}
Friendships are oh so important to us, aren’t they? So what do we do if we feel a friendship is headed down a wrong path? Or if God is nudging us to reevaluate it? Or the answer in the end is to let it go? How do we handle that and know we’re handling it right?
We can get so caught up in a friendship that we don’t realize how toxic it is. A little here, a little there. Before we realize it, we’re in deep. While healthy friendships are blessings, unhealthy friendships can cause toxic, destructive messes in your life. I like to call these drama tornadoes. Drama queens, cynics, manipulators and gossips are just some of the emotionally unhealthy people whose behaviors are toxic to you. If you walk away feeling angry, gossip-ish or just plain yucky after spending time together, you might have a toxic friend.

Today I am thankful for being a country girl. For dirt roads and corn fields. For the ability to change my own oil, bake up a cake and put shingles on the roof. For learning to drive a 1946 John Deere H when I was 11. For cowboy boots and jeans. For loving to get muddy and spinning out every chance I get. For my mama showing me how to can my own food. For my dad teaching me dirt washes off, how to replace a universal joint, how to mix bondo {which I love the smell of…is that weird?} and how to weld and braze. For being country since the first breath I took, even when it wasn’t cool.
