Voiceless {Movie Review}

When I was contacted by Icon Media and asked to review a movie for Christian Cinema, I leapt at the opportunity.  Once I read the film synopsis, I was completely drawn in and couldn’t wait to watch it.  And I was blessed to have a private screening of Voiceless!

As someone who has not only a strong opinion on abortion but also had their life spared by adoption, I can testify that the movie hits home. What they are telling us is it’s time to take a stand for the voiceless! As I’ve said before, we must stand for life. We must be a voice to the nations. If not us, then who? Who will speak out for these little ones?

In the myriad of pro-life films, Voiceless stands out as…well, first and foremost, it stands out. Whether by accident or design, the story of Voiceless is unlike any other movie in the mini-genre of films that speak out against abortion. The recently discharged soldier who had a rough upbringing, found God and now is running a community outreach program; his wife who, in the end, has to take a step of faith and stand beside her husband; and the teenage girl that has to choose between having her baby and getting kicked out of her home or having an abortion.

There were so many powerful key points made in the movie.  What it means to be pro-life, taking a stand even when you’re the only one standing, reaching out to broken people even when it’s messy, a church more concerned with numbers and appearing politically correct and following a convicted heart.
There was one quote in the movie that really struck me and left me wondering if we as a Christian community, and myself as a Christian, are doing enough to stand for the voiceless.

The church has become more like a lamp tucked under a basket than a pillar of light on top of a hill.

In life, we have to make choices and they aren’t always easy.  In Voiceless, Jesse had to make a choice.  Is he going to take the easy way out and back off, which is what everyone wants him to do, or will he face a major confrontation which will require him to put everything on the line…not just his job, but his freedom and marriage as well.

And last but not least, faith. Voiceless is filled with the theme of stepping out in faith!  That through Him, we have strength.  The entire movie spoke so loudly of Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Voiceless is gripping, emotional, touching and quite powerful. It displays a perfect amount of love, faith, devotion, and strength. It gives a voice to those who have yet to be heard.

In theaters October 7

Voiceless is a good message-movie, and it makes its case smoothly and clearly, but it’s also an excellent drama. This is a movie that can be recommended for all ages!  I simply cannot say enough great things about this movie!

Special thank you to Icon Media for providing me with a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest review. My review is my own personal opinion.

Fade to Bright {Product Review}

A few things: 1) I sell makeup. 2) I constantly take selfies showing said makeup. 3) I’m addicted to pumpkin spice coffee. Put ’em together and you have a recipe for showing the world your stained teeth…and who wants that!?! Not me.

I’m a daily coffee drinker and {I’ll admit it} a prior smoker.  I’ve also had two annoying yellow spots on my bottom teeth since, oh, ever since I can remember.  Maybe since my early teen years.  In the past few years, I’ve noticed my teeth were just slightly getting a little stained from my coffee.

You guys. Nothing ages you more than brown teeth!

Glossy, pearly white teeth are always at the top of every girl {and probably} guys wish-list of something they’d like to improve about their appearance. I have always longed to have that Hollywood smile but don’t have the money to invest heavily into professional teeth whitening.  And the over-the-counter whiteners I’ve tried at home just haven’t given me any decent results. That is until I tried Fade to Bright’s products.

I received my kit from Fade to Bright in the mail with detailed instructions. All in all, it was pretty easy (and fun!) to do. They were gracious enough to send enough for my entire family to try, so Jade and I set out on a lazy afternoon to whiten our teeth.

Jade used the Whitening Pen, the Teeth Whitening Trays with the Mini Light.  It was such an easy application!  She just brushed the gel onto her teeth, put the trays in and turned the light on.  She left hers on for 20 minutes.  You can see her amazing results below!
I used the Premiere Kit for my whitening.  First, I cleaned my teeth with the Oral Brush Up.  And boy, do they ever taste and smell good!  Then I applied the by painting it on my teeth.  I put a small amount of gel into the dispensing tub and dipped the brush into the gel and painted it on my teeth.  Easy peasy application!  I placed the tray {that was attached to my light} in over my teeth and turned my light on.  And then I settled on my bed and watched some Little House while it did it’s thing!

After applying the whitening gel you can apply some remineralizing gel to replace the minerals your tooth enamel has lost due to acidic foods, drinks, teeth whitening or what has naturally been lost over time. There is also a special ingredient to help with teeth sensitivity.  I was pretty excited about this, since I have super sensitive teeth.
I used the High Intensity gel that came with the plus kit. It contains 44% Carbamide Peroxide, that’s the highest percentage I have ever used but it’s still safe for your teeth. Most do-it-yourself sets like Crest White Strips only contain up to 16% of this concentration and that’s why the effect isn’t so drastic. I can honestly tell you, this system worked for me without leaving my teeth sensitive!  It’s very easy to do and the best thing is that you can do it at home! It is not uncomfortable at all since the trays should fit perfectly.

How were my results after one use? See for yourself:
